Sarah Whitten attended Drake University – entering as an actuarial science major and graduating with a double major in marketing and management and minors in finance and advertising. After college, Sarah moved directly to Atlanta starting her career in the ad agency world. After only one year, an amazing opportunity to work at Meers Advertising brought Sarah to Kansas City. With her passion for strategic thinking, intentional marketing, and an equal love for pictures and numbers, Sarah left Meers in 2006 to start the marketing department at a local bureau introducing her to the speaking industry.
During Sarah’s tenure working inside a speakers bureau, she gained a huge passion for the speaking industry in its entirety. She realized her love for people connecting could actually be a career – her dreams had come true! Sarah also learned a lot about business, leadership and team-building by paying attention to the amazing thought-leaders who she worked with throughout the years. With her new-found education from some of the world’s most sought after minds, Sarah was ready to challenge her next adventure – partnering with two equally, if not more, brilliant people to start a speaker management company, Standard Ovation.
With the experience Sarah has, her passion, drive and hunger to learn, she looks forward to working with Amy, Charlotte and their speakers to grow a wonderful trifecta of success – for Standard Ovation, their managed speakers, and their clients.
When Sarah isn’t working at Standard Ovation, she is spending time and having fun with her favorite lady, Harper Victoria (baby), Murphy (dog), running half-marathons, doing zumba, traveling the world, or enjoying a glass of wine while eating some brie cheese.
